There is something dynamic that is communicated with art, especially in the age of mobile phone photography, and AI generated imagery. Hand created original art is a visual depiction of soul and spirit that can transform how we see and how we perceive things.
Bio
It is difficult for me to remember a time when I was not drawing. Some of my earliest childhood memories are of drawing and creating. By the time I reached third grade, it had become a flashpoint that would set my course. My third-grade teacher contacted my parents and said, “We have to do something about David’s continual drawing. He is taking fellow students’ lunch money for drawings he is doing in class.”
Well, it was clear even then that there was a deep drive within me to create art that had value for people.
After design school, I enjoyed a career in graphic design, illustration, and user experience design. During those years, my fine art practice remained dormant. Now, however, I am pursuing it with the same passion I had in early childhood and with a desire to create meaningful moments and transformational experiences through my drawings and paintings—work that people will value and cherish for themselves.
Creating involves an investment not only of time but also, for me, of heart, as it comes from a place of deep meaning. Art can powerfully communicate story, emotion, and connection in ways that photography cannot.
These are the reasons I create and why I will continue to pursue my artistic journey in the years ahead.
