Commission FAQS

What types of custom art do you do?
I can produce any type of art that you may be interested in. I specialize in graphite drawing, but I love oil paint as a medium. I have over the years used many type of mediums, even as a commercial illustrator I have used mixed media to arrive at final imagery.

I’m interested, how do I get started?
1. First, submit your info on the no-obligation “Schedule a Call” commission form above.
2. Next, we’ll schedule an introductory phone call to discuss your ideas.
3. Then, when you’re ready to move forward, you’ll put down a deposit and we’ll get started!

What happens after that?
Following our initial conversation, I will ask you to forward photos of the subject/person/pet. I will develop some sketch composition options and present them you for review. Once the details are agreed upon, I’ll begin the work on the final art. When possible I will also include progress photos of the work as I go, which also become a nice addition to the final art when completed.

How long does a commission take?
The timing varies for each painting/drawing, depending upon the desired size, medium, subject matter, and complexity, as well as my current schedule. If you have a specific event and date that you’d like the art for, I’ll do my best to accommodate your needs.

How much does a custom art cost?
Commissioned art has several advantages. It is customized specifically for you and you’ll get to personally be a part of my creative process. However, due to the nature of a commission, the price is slightly higher than buying art that’s already completed.

A 50% deposit of the total price is required to secure your booking before I begin your art. The final 50% is due upon completion.
